Under MFA Construction
Hello my lovies! How adorable is my little writing buddy? He is forever by my side as I plan, write, and edit away. He loves keeping me company during those crazy all night writing sprees.
If you don’t know already, I’m an MFA in Creative Writing graduate student with Southern New Hampshire University. I’m a huge English literature nerd, and I love being able to spend time honing my craft and working with other writers. There’s just something about the way words flow across a piece of paper that has always enchanted me. It has been a privilege to channel that enchantment through this program, and I can’t wait until I graduate next August!
For my current term, one of my classes requires that I work on creating my author platform, beginning with making an author website. I’ve found this to be a little more than intimidating–I mean, I haven’t even finished the writing and editing process for my book, and I’m expected to start a website and social media for it? What on earth am I even supposed to put on here?
So please have patience with me as the content of this website changes and grows alongside my course assignments while I gain more experience and confidence in establishing my author presence.
Creating a website has definitely been a learning process! But to my surprise, I’m having a wonderful time designing the ends and outs of the website. I can’t wait to grow my reader community and interact with everyone, and working on this website makes all of that seem so close and so real while I work toward my December release goal.
Some things I look forward to sharing with you are blog posts, chapter excerpts, character playlists, character aesthetics, book and character trailers, newsletters, giveaways as we move closer to December, and so much more!
It is a truly humbling experience to have the support of so many loved ones, readers, and other authors. It’s a privilege to be able to find joy in writing books and telling stories, and I am grateful to all of you for the critical role you play in making this joy a reality. Your passion is my passion, and I thank you for it.
