In Search of Beta Readers

This post is surreal. I can’t believe I’m at the point where I’m actively searching for beta readers!!! I’ve been working on this novel for a year by this point, and in two weeks time, the first draft and round of editing will be completed, making the novel reader for beta readers.

I am beside myself with excitement. Erissa’s journey started as her very own, but along the way, Rhazien weaseled his way into the narrative, creating his own unique character arc and changing the trajectory of the story. And I can’t wait for everyone to explore Erissa and Rhazien’s journey!

Have I mentioned I’m excited?

“The Daughter of the Veil” is a spicy fantasy romance novel and does contain explicit themes, as well as darker subject matter concerning child abuse (although no actual depiction of the abuse). It is book one of a larger series, “The Veiled Throne Series.” You will find the book blurb below:

A Power

In a land divided between Fae and humans, Erissa Nierling has no place in either world but longs for a sense of home and family. Blessed with the powers of the Creator and bound to the magic of the Veil, Erissa can see the souls of those fated to pass into the afterlife—or cursed with them, if you ask her. When her powers spin out of control, Erissa’s parents lock her away behind walls and a witch’s spells. Spending decades trapped within the confines of her room leaves Erissa burning with a desire for freedom. When Erissa shatters the spells, she escapes with the help of the blacksmith, Rhazien.

A Secret

Now hunted by Fae and humans alike, Erissa and Rhazien must avoid those seeking to claim her powers. But the world is much larger than Erissa thought. Dark secrets are unearthed, and even Rhazien is hiding something, testing the bond of their relationship. With his secrets threatening everything between them and others hunting her from either side, Erissa is caught between destiny and desire.

A Choice

Ancient wickedness is threatening to break free from the Veil, one steeped in the blood-drenched sins of the Fae and human kingdoms, as it seeks to rip the Veil between life and death. When Erissa and Rhazien are betrayed, forcing Erissa to use her powers to open a rift in the Veil, all of life is at risk. Erissa must make a choice between saving the man she loves and protecting the world from what awaits beyond the boundary of the Veil, for she is the daughter of the Veil, and her choice will change the fate of the world.

There are no social media requirements or baselines of experience. If you love to read and find the blurb interesting and are willing to give an honest opinion, you’re the right reader for me! Beat readers will all receive ARC copies before publication as well!
